For those who don't know him well, my husband can seem like a reserved and serious person. And thankfully, he is serious about a lot of things: being a loving husband and father, working his job with purpose and integrity, and honoring the Lord in every area of life.
Besides all that, C.R. is a chemist, and everyone knows that is a serious field in science. (Trust me when I say that you do not want to get him started talking about the fascinating world of chemical compounds.)
I smile, however, as I think about all the times my "serious" husband has shocked his family and friends by saying or doing something outrageous and hilarious or just downright silly.
It happens a lot around his family - especially when he's with his daredevil little brother - so they aren't surprised.
In case you know C.R., and have not seen what I'm talking about, I have proof. It's not shocking, I'll admit, but it is funny (at least to me, anyway). Yesterday, my daughter and I watched some video clips of her with daddy. That's when I came across this short video I took about a year and a half ago.
Yes, that's my husband trying to sled down the mother of all bunny slopes on a snow shovel. Notice how he's decked out in his ski gear to play with a 2-year-old in a few inches of snow.
Do you see why I love this man?
